Santeri Tuori’s solo show at Purdy Hicks Gallery in London

Santeri Tuori’s solo show Immediate Nature opens in London at Purdy Hicks Gallery on 22 June and runs until 18 July 2023. In the making of the recent works from the Forest series, Tuori has spent much time in the archipelago in southwestern Finland, photographing repeatedly the same place, from the identical spot, at different seasons and times of day. Using a similar process for his Water Lilies series, Tuori has photographed the flowers and pads in lakes and ponds over an extended period of time, ensuing multi-layered images. Tuori also returns to portrait photography with his series Immediate Nature, combining portraits with images of forests, branches and bushes.

In Bloom

At Fotografiska Stockholm
17.2.2023 – 11.6.2023

Humans have always been dependent on nature, but it could easily do fine without humans. In a troubled world and in our high-paced consumer society, the human need to be in forests and to walk the land is likely greater than every before. An oasis of inspiration and calm, that symbolizes reproduction, sexuality, the birth of life and our inevitable death.

Timed with the emerging burst of spring, the new exhibit In Bloom will be opening at Fotografiska. It brings together 16 photographers all striving to understand and explore nature and humanity’s relationship to it.
