Posing Time

Three small canvases hang from the ceiling and animated portraits are being projected on them with three video projectors. In Posing Time the film material is the same as used, for example, in Julia / 3 min 36 s and Dzoni / 2 min 53 s. The models were asked to sit in a room for one hour with a film camera in front of them. Tuori sat in another room with a long cable release and exposed one frame every two seconds. In Posing Time a portrait consists of almost two thousand images and each portrait lasts about eight minutes. Single images can still be seen, but they appear so quickly that it is impossible to get hold of them. Posing Time consists of nine portraits and these portraits make up a loop of one hour.
